New Features: Search and related websites for companies

Just finished implementing a search box so that you will be able to search on keywords and find the relevant applications and companies they appear in. This is very useful if you have a lot of data and you don’t want to run through lists of companies and applications to find the ones you’re looking for.

Also, added the option to include related website URLs for companies. This is the place to list the company’s website, research links and links to other websites that might be reviewing or discussing the website. This is an important part of the company research information.

New Features: Application Milestones can now be edited

Just finished implemented the much-requested feature of being able to edit existing milestones of your application. For example, if you need to change the notes of interviews, or update which resume and cover letter you attached to your application, you can now edit the milestones in the application timeline and update all these details.

New Features: application events and reminders

Based on your feedback, I’ve implemented some major improvements to the Becomed.com website. I’ve added the option to add any application event at any time, without the predefined path of which event follows another event (e.g. after an interview you have a follow-up). The system now still recommends the next step or event in the application process, but allows you to add application events on your own terms.

I’ve also added the option to add application reminders. While application events record what already happened with the application (e.g. sent resume, participated in interview, sent follow-up, etc.), application reminders are your to-do list: what you still need to do in the future. You can record reminders like contacting the recuiter, following up on interviews, scheduling calls, meetings or lunches, or even sending flowers to the person who referred you to this job posting if you get the job.

These are major changes to the way the site works, and they’re all thanks to your feedback. Please keep your comments, suggestions and ideas coming! As you can see, I definitely take them to heart and work quickly to make them a reality.

New Features: improvements to nearly all sections of the site

Based on your feedback, I’ve made improvements to nearly all the sections of the site.

  • The login page now has an option to resend the activation email, in case you deleted it
  • The dashboard has a new useful list of your most active applications (those who went beyond the initial resume submission)
  • Application and company pages now have more information and are formatted to be more readable
  • Resume and cover letter pages now contain links to sites with advice about how to write better resumes and cover letters

I still have a list of great ideas I am going to be implementing in the upcoming days. If you have an idea for the site let me know, and if it makes sense to add it I’ll implement it very quickly.

New Features: company contacts and quick field editing

Just implemented a couple of new features:

  • Added ability to add company contacts on the company pages. This feature was requested by an anonymous user on the Becomed.com feedback forum . Please keep the feedback coming!
  • Added ability to quickly edit application names, company names, resume names and cover letter names by double clicking on their name.

New features: better timeline and ability to completely remove account

Just implemented a few new features:

  • Ability to change user passwords easily
  • Removed need for registration screen – simply log in with your email and desired password and you’re good to go!
  • Ability to completely delete your user account and all associated data

Also improved the looks of the application activity timeline to make it more readable.
